From the Netherlands
to India
Hi! I’m Alex and from March 2024 I am covering a distance of over 11.000 kilometers on a cycling journey to Tamil Nadu, India. I hope to capture the textile industry and its impact. I’ll be sharing this through social media so make sure to follow me! Otherwise click the button at the end of this page. I’ll be diving into the stories behind our clothes we wear, as I believe that not only the people wearing clothing but also the manufacturers or cultures behind it have beautiful stories to tell. My aim is to raise awareness about the environmental and social impact of clothing production and consumption, as I’ve been introduced with during my 4 year fashion and textile study in Enschede, the Netherlands. I will explore the textile supply chain from fiber to retail, showcase local initiatives, and emphasize the value of traditional clothing.

As a passionate textile graduate, I wanted to make my dream come true, bike to India and combine it with my fascination for the textile industry. And I know my dream will come true! As a true Dutchman cycling is no unfamiliar terrain for me. With this trip, I want to share the cultural stories behind our clothing and hope to inspire you to rethink the value of your wardrobe.
