Below you can find the route that I will be taking to India. My initial plan was to cycle to Iran two years back. This country has been an obsession of mine for quite some time now and I desperately wanted to travel to it. Four years ago I’ve gotten really passionated about sustainable travel and made myself a promise not to fly anymore, only if I really have to. Since I do not have a drivers license it got to the point that there is no other way to travel to Iran than by bike (with of course keeping slow pace traveling in mind). I wanted to extend the journey to India because of its textile industry and combine it with documenting textile stories along the way. The journey is around 11.000 kilometers traveling through Eastern Europe, Iran and parts of the Arabian world.
